The San Diego fires have been a huge loss to this community. I'm grateful that the fires have missed my condo, although my thoughts and prayers go out to every that has experienced a loss.
It all started Sunday afternoon. I could tell it wasn't going to be good day. I started seeing and smelling smoke around 1pm. The Santa Ana winds were really picking up and knew we could be in a for a big fire. Sunday night is when it all happened. The winds were so forceful it was hard to sleep. Thinking that if were a fire going on with these winds, we were in trouble. I was right, I woke up to friend banging on my door, telling me we had to evacuate.
I had to pack all my valuables and head off. It didn't look good and all the highways around me were closed. Looking in the sky there was this orange glow and it looked very scary, something out of a movie. I stayed with a friend of mine the whole day, contemplating where we should go if the fire came to close and we had to leave.
To say the least, our community survived, but many others did not. This was the biggest disasters I have been a part of and I hope its my last. So much loss and pain. God Bless everyone that this has effected. I pray for all and hope this never happens again.
I believe this is all apart of a bigger problem called Global Warming. I wish I were wrong, but I'm seeing so much of our world change. For instance, last week in Wisconsin, it was in the mid 80s. If all this isn't a sign I'm not sure what is. Please take a part in this world wide issue.
