What you might want to know about food allergies and weight gain. I have recently found some informative information on food allergies and what are the symptoms. One of the diets that I read about was the Elimination Diet. The Elimination Diet helps find what you may be allergic too by eliminating certain foods. It's a 3o day diet that may be a challenge, but is well worth it.

One of the reasons I'm now interested in food allergies, someone mentioned that dark circles under your eyes can be caused by certain foods. This made me think, seeing I have dark circles under my eyes sometimes.

The more I read about food allergies, the more I know I need to learn more. Weight gain may be another symptom that's caused by food allergies. Another great article I just read was The Top 8 Foods People Are Most Sensitive To -- Without Even Knowing It! These are goods places to start to find what be causing your symptoms.

Advanced Balance exercises

These advanced balance exercises can be done with an exercise ball. As we age we lose are balance. Once we lose our balance we are more prone to falling and hurting ourselves, soemtimes even breaking bones.

We really don't take the time to train our bodies to be better at balance. These exercises might be advanced, but start out slow and progress. Progression is one of the main components of any exercise program. I suggest doing the stork stance and progress from there.

Ask me about the balance test that can you do in 15 seconds.

Senior Citizen and exercise

People often ask me if its too late to start working out when they become seniors. This article is about senior citizen and exercise. Starting a fitness program in your fifties is probably one the smartest things to do for your body. Resistance training is so important, it not only builds muscle, but your strengthens your bones, helps with your mood, and creates better balance.

Most people don't think about their balance, but this is a important component. This is how most people, as they get older, break bones. They lose their balance, fall and break a hip, leg, and/or arm. Once you break a bone, then you become even more sedentary, you lose more muscle mass and slow your metabolism even more.

If your just starting out with an exercise program, I recommend starting slowly and progressing from there. Even 15 minutes a day in the beginning would be sufficient. Throughout my blog I have many exercises that you can incorporate in your fitness routine. Please let me know if you have any questions on the topic of "senior citizen and exercise".

Building a ripped lean body

Posted by San Diego Fitness Training | 9:07 AM | , , | 0 comments »

Building a ripped lean body depends a few factors. Genetics is probably number 1, but how about the factors that we can control. I will share a few that make all the difference.

A) Workout-50 to 80 minutes maximum. After 80 minutes, the levels of muscle building and fat burning hormones that your body produces (such as testosterone) begin to drop. What this means is that training more than 80 minutes will prevent you from gaining muscle and losing fat fast! It will also prevent you from fast recovery.

B) The rest in between sets should be kept to a minimum (60 seconds or less). Keeping your rest in between sets and exercises down not only helps you to perform a lot of work and still finish within the 80 minutes, but it also helps improve your cardiovascular system. In addition, it has also been shown that this kind of training stimulates growth hormones output the most.

C) Generally, the sets should be of 8 - 15 repetitions each (Note: For bodybuilding, however, we also recommend periods of 5-8 repetitions as well. This is of crucial necessity for a bodybuilder as an increase of strength is required in order for continued muscle growth to occur.) There are many reasons for this:
1) You get the best pump (blood flowing into your muscle cells) in this repetition range. This is important since along with the blood come nutrients that nourish the muscle cells and help them recover and rebuild bigger faster.
2) Since you are doing so many repetitions, there is less probability of injury since you'll be using a weight that you can control.
3) Again, studies show that muscle building and fat burning occur more efficiently at these repetition ranges.

D) Training must be varied and cycled. Please, don't get stuck with the same routine day in and day out. If you are a bodybuilder, and you do this, this guarantees zero muscle growth. This is without even mentioning boredom and lack of enthusiasm.
