I started growing a herb garden last year and have really enjoyed the fresh supply of cilantro that I now have. Cilantro has so much taste and you can eat it with almost anything. I have been putting it on my turkey sandwiches, which makes a great tasty addition. I also have put it in pasta dishes, eggs, and on my turkey burgers.
Since I have been eating cilantro on a regular basis I thought it would be nice too look up the benefits and see what else I can learn.
Here are just a few of the benefits of Cilantro:
- A great source of iron and magnesium, which women should get a good supply daily
- Rich in phytonutrients and flavonoids, which helps protect against disease
- Lowers bad cholesterol (LDL) and raises good cholesterol (HDL)
- Is an anti-inflammatory that may alleviate symptoms of arthritis
