Fitness Trainer in San Diego

Fitness trainer in San Diego has been a fun and rewarding career. I just received a question from one of my subscribers that I thought I would share.

"I'm currently 24 years old.. actually i feel that I'm quite fat even though I'm already the thinnest in the family.. I'm 5'10 and 80kg.. that's why i always couple cardio with resistance training.. however.. lately i realized that my muscle mass is actually getting smaller.. wonder what's wrong..??"

My first thought I had, what is your specific goal? His was to gain muscle size. Even though I like and recommend cardio for most clients, I think this may have stopped him from seeing muscle gains. He was burning too many calories for his goal. From asking more questions he was also not eating right. He needs to eat around 80-100 grams of protein per day, he was consuming around 40-50g. In order for muscle to grow you must tear that muscle down and recover it as fast as you can. Eating protein will help build and repair the muscle after exercise.
Drinking water is also essential is muscle growth. Think about it 80% of you muscle is water. Water helps bring in nutrients to help repair your muscles. That should be your number 1 goal.

I'm realizing that being a fitness trainer in San Diego does not limit myself to just San Diego. I'm looking forward to offering online personal training to all my out of town clients within the next few months.

Thanks for your question. Please keep them coming.

Loss of 3% body fat in 4 weeks

Posted by San Diego Fitness Training | 9:08 PM | , , , | 0 comments »

I recently had a loss of 3% body fat in 4 weeks. The nutritionist that I have made friends with, we have been helping each other out for the past few weeks. I have been training her 3 times a week in the fitness studio. She has helped me with my nutrition program, making recommendations with supplements and food.

Here are a few of the things I have changed in my diet and lifestyle.

  1. Started taking a high potency multi-vitamin 3 times a day.
  2. Started taking a fish oil capsule 2-3 times a day.
  3. Trying to eat more protein. Every meal must have some sort of protein
  4. I have cut out all dairy, except eggs
  5. Try not to eat wheat products

That's pretty much all of it. I still workout 4 times week. Mostly free weights and functional exercises., always trying to change and adapt. I think I need to start taking yoga again. That first time was unreal. My body felt so different. Unexplainable.

Anyway, let me know what kind of questions you have on your diet. Thanks for reading

Free resistance band exercises are all over my blog and are free for everyone to use. I recommend using a personal trainer in the beginning to make sure your using proper form. Hiring a personal trainer actually saves you money in the long run, while reducing injuries as well.

Here is one of my latest Free resistance band exercises that I did with a stability ball. How many of you use a stabilty ball in your exercise program? If you don't, I suggest you start. It's a great and cheap tool that can be used in the comfort of your home.

Blogger is not allowing me to publish on my blog.mosesinhomefitness.com site. There have been many others bloggers with the same issue. I'm not sure whats going, but hopefully this be resolved soon. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I wanted to share a quick question that I had from one of my readers.

hi there.. mr. kevin..i would like to ask you is it possible to sculpt muscles using bands..?? just like the way weights training do..?? i'm a frequent traveller.. so i can only bring the bands with me.. however.. i would like to build my muscles or become ripped.. so is resistance band exercise able to do that..?? hope you can tell me more about this as you are the pro.. million thanks.

I responded with, yes resistance bands can help sculpt muscles, although not like free weights. I think resistance bands are a simple and cheap tool that can be used by anyone. Using all forms of strength training equipment will yield the best results. Thanks for your question.

Elastic exercise equipment

Elastic exercise equipment, which I like to call resistance bands, is a simple and cheap exercise tool. What most people don't know, working out 15 minutes, 3 times a week with elastic exercise equipment, they would see significant results. I have been working out for half my life and understand that with exercise you must continually change your exercise program to see the best results. We adapt to all stimulus every 21 days or so.

Use free weights one day, do body weight exercises the next, and elastic exercise equipment the last day. Change it up all the time, it will keep you fresh with your routines. Here's a short routine using elastic exercise equipment. I recommend repeating this routine 2-3 times every other day for optimum results. You can purchase resistance from my website. I have a great deal going on right now.

How I lost 26 lbs

Posted by San Diego Fitness Training | 6:00 PM | , | 0 comments »

Well its been awhile since I have weighed 206 lbs, probably 8 years or so. I have always had the mind set that I need to grow, so eat lots of food. Now in my late 3os, I see my metabolism slow down. At my height I weighed 232 lbs. I now weigh 206 lbs. I have lost a total of 26 lbs in 15 months. It didn't come off fast, but now that I'm learning some good nutritional tips, its coming off easier.

I really changed the way I eat. I try not eat any processed foods. I hardly eat frozen foods that have tons of preservatives. I used to think Lean Pockets were OK to eat. Starting taking a high potency multi vitamin. The nutritionist told me that since I started taking these my cells are more efficient. Plain and simple, I'm creating and using fuel more effectively.

The science of nutrition is so exciting. I look forward to learning more about how these amazing vitamins and minerals have an effect on my body.
