What does Acupunture Treat?

Posted by San Diego Fitness Training | 1:28 PM | , , | 0 comments »

What does acupuncture treat? I hear it all the time, acupuncture helped with back pain, quitting smoking, weight loss, almost any condition that you can imagine, I have heard it. I'm still a bit skeptical, but I had a treatment today from someone who has done this kind of work over 25 years.

The conditions she mentioned she could help with, reducing the dark circles under my eyes and hair loss. I sure wish I had the money to try these on going treatments. I liked the first one and do feel more energized. She also recommended a herbal tea that I might try.

What does acupuncture treat for you? Anyone want to share their experience?

Buying New Tires

Posted by San Diego Fitness Training | 12:10 PM | | 0 comments »

I was in the market for buying new car tires yesterday. I did something I normally don't do, shop around. I'm wondering why I don't do this more often, I saved over $65 within a few minutes.

So check this out. I called up Discount Tire and asked for a quote for my Toyota Camry. The first quote I received was $279. I then proceed to call Evans Tire and mention what Discount Tire's quote was, Evans then quoted me $260. I did this a few more times, until I came to a quote of $213 out the door from Discount Tire.

I have to admit this was my first time ever doing this for tires and I'm now kicking myself for not doing more often. With this economy, everyone is trying beat prices. Take that extra few minutes. Who know's you might save more than you think.

Do you Stretch?

Posted by San Diego Fitness Training | 8:10 AM | , , | 0 comments »

Do you stretch? Stretching is one the best ways to reduce and eliminate pain. Most, if not all of my clients have some sort of issue that needs stretch therapy.

They say three out of five Americans will have lower back problems. Most can be corrected with a stretching routine.

If you have lower back issues I recommend consulting a DR. Then start a gentle stretching routine. I recommend stretching the hamstrings, hip flexors, hips, & glutes. Most of these stretches are in the video below.

Let me know how this routine works.

Are Wellness Programs Growing?

Posted by San Diego Fitness Training | 9:42 AM | , | 0 comments »

Wellness programs are starting to become the norm in the work place. It makes sense to spend some money on your employees. It breaks down to every $1 you spend in a wellness program for your employees you get back $3 from insurance, sick days(lack of), moral, etc.

I was reading an article last night and found this statistic, 57% of employers in 2008 with 500 or more employees were provided with a wellness program, up from 49% in 2006. Looks like employers are starting to notice the benefits.

Does your job offer any incentive to workout or wellness program?
